Aesop Events Demo

Aesop Story Engine Addon

All of this demo text will likely make no sense, and that’s ok. It’s primary job is to fill space but not seem so devoid of life as normal loreum ipsum. Honestly there’s no telling where this will end up, bug I need about 500 words so you can see just how damn awesome the new Events addon is from Aesop Story Engine.

You can use it to do things like, show events! Yes! The main idea behind this addon is that it’s designed to flow along with your story. That’s why there’s so much text here! It’s kinda showing you what an example would be like, and how it fits in so easily. The width of the slide area will automatically be awesome within Aesop themes. And, it’ll be awesome in other themes too! So far it looks great in non Aesop themes. For example this modified Twenty Twelve theme. So neato!

And it’s got a sweet admin area that let’s you control all sorts of things on each slide. So for example you can have an image and text, or a video and text, or just text, or just an image, or just video! You can even control the width of each side. So you can set the media side to be 50% and the text side to be 50%. The demo here shows it at 30% and 70%. Oh, and of course, picking the actual date and time is super easy using handy dandy date picker, and time pickers. No manually entering that stuff.

    Aesop Events

The main goal of this addon is to show historical events, at the same time as following the natural flow of the story. The result is a complete marriage of an interactive means of traversing events within the context of the story that it deserves.

Each display item can be setup in a variety of different ways. You can have images, text, or video, or any combination of those.

I was a little staggered, but go a-whaling I must, and I would; and the Pequod was as good a ship as any—I thought the best—and all this I now repeated to Peleg. Seeing me so determined, he expressed his willingness to ship me.

"And thou mayest as well sign the papers right off," he added—"come along with ye." And so saying, he led the way below deck into the cabin. Seated on the transom was what seemed to me a most uncommon and surprising figure.

What’s even cooler is that you can create lots of Event Components, and you can have multiple on one page. They’re managed with a custom post type in WordPress so it’s super easy to organize and get setup. And, to top it off, Events is tied right into Aesop Story Engine 1.1. This means you can pick the events right within a beautifully designed interface without having to muck around with ID’s and such.

Honestly, it’s really neat, and we think you should buy it. “What’s the matter?” asked Sir Francis, putting out his head.

“I don’t know, officer,” replied the Parsee, listening attentively to a confused murmur which came through the thick branches.

The murmur soon became more distinct; it now seemed like a distant concert of human voices accompanied by brass instruments. Passepartout was all eyes and ears. Mr. Fogg patiently waited without a word. The Parsee jumped to the ground, fastened the elephant to a tree, and plunged into the thicket. He soon returned, saying:
